Can you take painkillers ie nuerophen whilst taking Citalopram?, been on them 11 days 1st headache.

Hi Apple,

Sorry I don't know what nuerophen is but I do know I had terrible headaches when I started my anti-depressant. I just wanted to say I hope you feel better soon and I'm sure someone else will know what med you are talking about.

i dont think u can take anything with ibuprofen, but paracetamol ok

Hi just called loylds pharmacy and they checked and said it fine to take nuerophen/ibuprofen

It says in the patient info leaflet for citalopram that you shouldn't take ibuprofen. However, I've spoken to a couple of GPs about this and it's fine as long as you don't take the ibuprofen on an empty stomach.
