    Is Citalopram helping

    Hi

I have been on 40mg Citalopram now for about 2 years and I have loads on anxiety.

I go to work in the morning and I am tiered all the time. Whilst at work I sit and worry and can't stop things going around in my head.

I cannot concentrate and always feel anxious. I never feel refreshed in the mornings, and I am constantly tiered.

I have been in a new relationship for 3 months and all I do is worry and get anxious about it. I missed work today due to my anxiety and it's effecting my relationship - I just want the worrying and anxiety to go away.

Can anyone help me? Is it that.

    1. I need to up my dose
2 . Get off the tablets completely.
    3. Change Tablets
    4. Anything else.

Hiya citalopram like any antidepressants can only help so much, they dont take away the anxiety alltogether.Alot of people have other therapy along with taking the med's.
Im on citalopram but I still get very anxious.

think you need to go back to the gp for a discussion on your meds

    Hi

Citalopram does work but different people need different doses. I agree with the other posts that you need to combine it with therapy and you should go back to the doc and sicuss about increasing the dose. 40mg is the hafway dose of the max allowed.

    Best of luck

have been taking citalopram for about 3 weeks. My first time on these. waking up every day waiting for a magic wand to have been waved over me.. perhaps i am being impatient. It seems these things take time. At least i dont appear to have had any side effects. Seems to be a lot of conflicting info about how long they take to help things.
