    for sleep...?

    Hi

Does anyone know of any natural remedies for sleep that really work?

I currently take Nytol to help me to sleep but dont really like to take them every night...they do work though and wondered if there's anything more natural I could take.

    Thanks in advance!

    Have you tried Valeriana?

I did, and sometimes I felt more relaxed... just my thoughts.

I've never found the natural stuff to work very well. I do drink camomile tea before bed now. It has a calming effect, not sure if it's the answer to insomnia though

    take care

    Re: for sleep...?

    hi,
Valeriana tea is excellent for sleep, if you can stand the smell (I can`t ); you can also use other forms: extract, capsules etc.
    # Melatonin (helps regulating sleep patterns)
    # Tryptophan - usually found in milk and in whole grain products: drink a cup of warm milk in the evening (if not lactose intolerant)
Also, u may try these soothing infusions: chamomile; linden
    # Magnesium good for anxiety and also promotes sleep
    Also,
    # avoid coffee, coke and tea after noon
    # do not eat sweets in the evening
    # do not do strenuous physical exercises in the evening
    # do not have dinner after 6-7 PM

    # Relaxation techniques may help your brain to enter the alpha-wave state (a state of the brain which preceds sleep) Progressive muscle relaxation is just one of them.
#A good bath before bed time promotes sleep. You can add relaxing scents such as camomile, neroli, sandalwood or bergamot.
