Re: Has citalopram worked for you?

I think it has helped my depression to a great extent. I'm not so sure on the anxiety side as yet, but I must say that's got a bit better, too. But definitely the depression is improving

I wish i could say it did but it helped a little but still felt anxious and panicky. Started on Venlafaxine 2 days ago, hope this works for me. Different drugs suit diffrent people.

I was on it for three years and it helped me alot with my depression and anxiety for that time!
Unfortunatly when my step-dad died I had to move onto something stronger

Been on the meds since Xmas - dreadful side affects at first - dont know how I managed to keep taking them but I did - 12 to 13 weeks on, still not convinced they are working - but do feel a bit calmer - but that could be the NLP sessions I have had

Im 9 weeks into taking the tablets and after horrible initial side effects i think they are definately making a positive impact on my depression. I also think its important to do as much for yourself as possible to for the best chance of long term recovery - and personally so far i am finding that exercise daily really helps, and im beginning to understand and challenge my automatic negative thinking with some CBT and although this is more ongoing i believe will stand me in good stead down the line.

Hmm, a fairly poor showing for citalopram in this poll. It helped less than half of voters to recover. I'm worried about how this drug increases anxiety and doesn't seem to cure it -- I'm suffering more from anxiety than depression so that's bad news.

What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I drew the line between hope and despair, and the line will hold.

"Forth now, and fear no darkness!"
