I'm new, but a bit late introducing myself!

    Hi all,

I found this site a couple of days ago and in my joy at having found others who are experiencing the same things I am I have already posted a couple of messages.

I have been suffering from panic, anxiety and depression for about 16 years. I have been on and off various ant-depressants and received counselling. I have times when i'm well and times when the demons come back to visit in a big way.

I'm suffering badly at the moment and feel that my anxiety is controlling me not the other way round. I am having hypnotherapy and have been introduced to something called Emotional Freedom Technique also known as "tapping". This involves tapping the meridien points and repeating an affirmation. It does help, i woke up this morning with vertigo (a new symptom) and this bought on a long and dreadful panic attack. I have "tapped" for it and am feeling slightly better (but still very dizzy).

Iam so pleased to have found this site.

Welcome to the site - hope you feel better as the day goes on.

Maybe catch you in the chatroom sometime.

    Hi Maddie

Welcome to the forum. I'm glad the hypnotherapy and EFT is helping you. I'm also having hypnotherapy.

Hope we can offer help and support in your recovery.

It is not easy to find happiness in ourselves, and it is not possible to find it elsewhere.

    Hiya

    Thanks for your welcome.

You don't have to be hypnotised to tap. I've just replied to a post from Jenny in the Therapy Forum about this have a look in there it will help.

    Hi Maddie

I have TFT ( THOUGHT FIELD THERAPY) which is tapping , very expensive but I find it really helps the only thing is it doesnt last, although last year I had a session which lasted 3 months.

    Hi Maddieg

    Welcome aboard!!!!!!

I've seen that technique on the Paul McKenna show. I was thinking of going for hypnotherapy to get me back driving alone again. Would you reccommend it?? Am a bit worried that I won't be in control.

    Hi Maddie,

Nice to meet you, I think I have heard of that treatment called tapping,I'm sure it was on Richard and Judy one night. Can it only be done privatly? or is this something you can approach your gp about.
