    Water

Every where I go i NEED to have access to water.

I take a bottle with me every where.

My friends laugh at the ammount of empty bottles in my car (maybe I should get round to cleaning it lol there has to be nearly 25+ in there).

I start to panic if I have no immediate access to drink. My mouth dries up even more and I feel i will dehydrate.

I miss the days of not having to carry a bottle with me. Im like the only one I ever see who has to hold a water bottle where ever I be.

would you say this is OCD? Any tips on how to overcome it?

    Hi,

I am on a weight loss diet and one of the most important things I have been advised to do is to make sure I drink lots of water. Lots of it. I drink at least 5 - 500ml bottlers steadily throughout the day. I am never without my bottle of water...

The health benefits of water are copius:

    • If you have 4-5% less than the recommended daily amount of water, it can affect your mental & physical performance by up to 20-30%

    • Water flushes out the toxins in our bodies, which if they accumulate can cause dehydration which in turn causes tension, aches, pains, & headaches.

    • water helps keep our joints well oiled, helping prevent joint disease such as arthritis in later life.

    • water helps our gut work more efficiently, helping prevent constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, & many other related diseases.

    • water hydrates your skin. Drinking enough water can combat skin disorders such as eczema, psoriasis, dry skin, wrinkles & spots

So even if it is an obsession does that mean it has to be a bad thing?

Water is good for you and it isn't the problem. Anxiety, stress, panic because you don't have any water RIGHT NOW (when it is readily accessible) is the problem.

You realize health threatening dehydration takes about 3 days to set in, right?

Will repeating that fact over and over and over help?

    I'm kinda the same way.
I was on a 3 hour train journey years ago and was so thirsty but had nothing to drink!
I need water on me at all times.
if my throats too dry it seems to stick together and can cause me to gag!
