Head zaps....Help please

I was on anti depressants for 3 months and came off them 10 weks ago. I had head zaps while I was on he meds and they have not gone away.

I am getting really fed up and quite worried about them now. I thought they would have gone by now. It feels like my head has been plugged in and I get blurred vision with hem.

I know they can also be a symptom of anxiety but they are frightening me. I never had them before I started the meds. Why won't they go away?Are they dangerous?

Please can someone give me advice to make me feel better as I can feel anxious about them.

Hi Sharona ,this can happen by coming off SSRIs too quickly ,its part of the discontinuation syndrome .Graduall withdrawal often prevents these or if you do get them they arent so severe .They are not harmful.Being anxious about them will make it worse .They will eventually go but sometimes can last for a few months .I do hope you feel better soon Sue x

Thank you for the reassurance. They just really frightening when I get them, they stop me in my track-so to speak.

It really helps when someone else gets your symptoms, even though I would not wish these upon anyone.

I ahd them really bad yesterday, you are so right saying if you worry it makes them worse, it does.
