    Great to be here

    Hi
I have recently joined this website, after searching for info on Health Anxiety. I did not know such sites existed, and I am so pleased to be here! It is very supportive to know that you are not alone.

I didn't even know I had health anxiety until recently, after I saw a psychologist. (Who also said I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder related to health). I have had anxiety problems for years, and have just accepted it, but recently I have felt that my fears are ruining my life and preventing me from enjoying the important things.

My fears I think have always affected my behaviour, but when I was younger I could overcome them more easily. Now I am 40, and have so many different worries, they fill my day. I just go from one worry to the next. Sometimes I can feel strong and make a 'risky' decision, then later I'll regret it and panic, and wish I wasn't doing it anymore! Then I have the problem of undoing it, or trying to battle on and face my fears.

Either way it's very wearing! [|)] I really want to do something though as I do not want my irrational fears and behaviour to affect my children. I make a lot of effort to appear 'normal' and not over worry, although I am sure that they pick up on a lot.

Anyway, thats enough of me for now!

    Glad you found us Mable.

Accepting it is half of the recovery. Your presence here will only strengthen that.

Many people in this world have anxiety. But they just hide it.

    Hi there Mabel

Welcome to this site and like you, I only found this fairly recently and didn't know you could get support like this.

I suffered with OCD as a child and now try to deal with anxiety related problems that are basically stopping me from living the life I want to live.

So now you know you are definitely not alone and there are lots of people to chat with. You'll get great support and helpful advice from people that really understand and know what you are going through.

PM me anytime for a chat[OK]

    Hello Mabel,

Its is wearing, dealing with these anxieties.
What are your main fears ?

You can learn to think another way and improve from where you are now.

What help have you had so far ? CBT is the therapty of choice.
