Scared of dentist appointment today

Hi ya,
i've got a dentist appointment today at 14.00 which im sooo anxiuos about. i dont like dentists what so ever but i have to go cause i've broken a tooth. last time i went i was in the chair shaking like mad and the nurse had to hold me still so the dentist could do his work. horrible.
and i know for a fact im gonna do it again. i just dont like the feeling that the injection gives you. feels like my throats closing up.
could really use some kind words.....

Maybe if you tried to change the way you are thinking.
Just because it happened last time it doesn't necessarily mean that it will be the same this time.

Just think to your self, "I cant wait to get in that chair"
"So what if i get shakey whats the worst thing that can happen"?
"I may pass out in this lovely comfortable chair/bed"
"the injection may feel strange at first but then i wont feel anything"
"the nurse/dentist are medically trained so i couldnt be in a better place"
"they see people everyday who are terrified and shake"
"at the end of this my mouth will feel better"
"AT THE END OF THIS I WILL BE SO PLEASED WITH MYSELF"!

My husband passed out at the dentist once and was brought home with the nurse holding his arm lol, he had no usuall anxiety and is a strong strapping man.He laughed about it afterwards.
This gets me thinking it really is the attitude we have towards this fear.
Some people laugh about it whilst others like us fret about it.

twiglet, u are so brave with going to the dentist, wow, i need to go myself, well think about this, think of the result after your teeth has been done, dont think wats happening at the time, thk of the result and you;ll be fine, trust me, before you know it it;ll be over.

listen to me giving advice i have to go to the dentist.
