medication drama!!!

hi,

just a lil question really ,

my doctor gave me citalopram for my anxiety , when i first started taking them they made me feel very ill , i had a racing heartbeat , went very pale with blue lips, dry throat ect. is this normal for when u first start taking them?????? also have been given another type of tablets but am scared to take them should i or not , my anxiety have got worse over time only had panic attacks and stress now have morbid anxiety and depression any help ........

i take venlafaxine -they are ok, don't panic......and like you, I was unable to tolerate citalopram

hi i had terrible side effects with citalopram same as really,palpatations,chest pain ,anxiety magnified loads, deep depression and very morbid and tearful.Off to drs to have a re think but nervous about even trying different drug,still anxious though!

When I tried citalopram I had really bad side effects the first few days and felt really awful. I eventually went onto a different anti depressant.

Read the leaflet that came with them and if anything's worrying you about the side effects you're experiencing call/visit your doctor.
