Hiya Jay,
I too think that CBT is worth exploring. Might be worth persuing via your GP, although a phone based CBT course is offered by the charity No Panic .

Dont mess up the best things in your life, just because at present you are unsure who you are.

"Supposing it didn't," said Pooh after careful thought.
Hi jay, I can completely understand what you're going through as it was when I was at University that my anxiety problems started. I had something similar with the classroom stiuation but i think it was socializing where strangely I felt more analysed as I thought everyone seemed so "cool" and intelligent. I used to binge drink to deal with the symptoms and my main advice to you is don't go down that road, alcohol only makes the panic worse in the long run. I know it's hard because socializing is such a big part of university life. Try to accept your feelings of panic when they come as they're nothing to be ashsamed of and let them float on past you. If you have any counselling services on campus make an appointment, it could be a huge support just to talk. Take care

Welcome to the site Jay.
Hi Jay
Welcome to the forum. I too have social phobia which started when I was at school.
Some CBT therapy could be beneficial, as could hypnotherapy. I am slowly making some progress with this, with a lot of help and support. It is not easy but can be done.

It is not easy to find happiness in ourselves, and it is not possible to find it elsewhere.
