You're symptoms are typical side effects of starting out on this med. These meds can take many weeks/months to even out, lack of sleep is very common. I'm 7 weeks into seroxat and since experiencing insomnia. I found in the past with other meds that these all side effects do eventually wear off. Though things are very slow for me this time. It's really very early days for you. You should read Psychopoet's guide to Cit...really very good.

Well, indeed citalopram will affect your sleep, that's why they tell you to take it at the morning.

Regarding the cycles of anxiety/depression, I have those too, but it seems it only happens when I drink alcohol (even small quantities)....
