prescribed valium for panic but panicking about taking

well i've been taking it twice a day for a few days now, it does take the terrible panic off and makes me sleepy which is a good thing. I didn't take it this morning and sure enough had a bad panic around 11.00 and so took one. So i am not that confident that this is going to get me off the panic cycle that easily. panicking about panicking or what!

Trouble is I have an 18 yr old adhd asperger's son gone wild. My doc said I am just worn down and have crashed because of the stress. I made the mistake of battling on through years of it without taking any meds and putting a brave face on until he became uncontrollable . Then came the breakdown and now when I want to take the meds they don't seem to be working.

Suppose i have to hang in there a bit longer. thanks to all for help and concern

Due to the short acting nature of Diazapam, twice may not quite be enough to break the cycle as doc planned... for me the effects last max 3 hours.... x

Ah i get it, i have been doing it all wrong! He said take 3 x a day and i have just been taking it when feeling bad, so i need to take it same times each day if i feel bad or not.

Thanks i feel a bit stupid.
