Anyone else switched from Citalopram to Ecitalopram?

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone out there has done this, and found it beneficial (or not, as the case might be). I have been on 10mg of Citalopram (cipramil) for the last 3 years, and I wonder if I have gotten used to it and need to switch. My sister has been on 5mg of Lexapro for 3 weeks and feels like her life has changed!

Having recently gone through a separation I am under a huge amount of stress, and feel my emotions all over the place, with a lot of anxiety and depression. Wondering if switching meds will help.

Would love some advice.

i have done this - cipralex has got fewer side effects and its a slightly better drug i think - its more expensive thats why docs dont prescribe is as much

I have done this and found escitalopram to be amazing. But its all individual, it may not help you like it has others. If you feel this way speak to your GP about it.
