    Ladies please... lower abdominal pain

    Hi guys,

Just a quick question.... im on the contraceptive pill, have been for about 5 years now, but iv started to have a horrible dull ache/pain in my lower abdomen since yesterday and also in the lower back... iv worked out that it is 14 days since the start of my last period which in many cases would suggest its just an ovulation pain..... but the contraceptive pill stops ovulation, so im just alittle worried about what it can be??

Does anyone else suffer from this even though they are in the pill?
All sorts of things are going round my brain now... pain gona get so bad i end up in hospital/can never have children/operations!! Which is know is silly... just need abit of reassurance!

    Thank you x

    Hi
Im not 100% sure but doesnt the contraceptive pill sometimes stop ovulation and not always? So it could be that you are ovulating. I get what im sure are ovulation pains, i dont get them every month though and i have had this both off and on the contraceptive pill.

Thank you mary, this has reassured me.

Iv just come on again... nightmare! Only had a weeks break... suppose it explains the pains and discomfort though. x

Hi thought id comment. Im not on the pill but i do experience abdominal pains. More discomforting than anything. Maybe the odd sharp pains. If you are on the pill then your body will not produce any eggs so therefore id have to say, no its not ovulation pain. Maybe you should take a break from the pill. Or speak with your doctor to make sure it isnt anything else. Have you been taking the pill properly?
