IBS Tests

I think I may have IBS as I've been doing some research and I seem to have most of the symptoms.
I want to go to the doctors to get properly tested but I'm scared of not knowing what to expect.
What tests are involved with IBS?

How annoying. I read somewhere that they do blood tests to rule out other problems.
Would you know if that's true by any chance?

Well they may do blood tests but not sure what they rule out.

I'm obviously going to have to bite the bullet and go to the doctors but it's just nice to know what to expect.

I went to the doctors recently with similar problems. Doctor said IBS is a diagnosis of exclusion. I had loads of blood tests done, not sure what they all were but they did test for liver function. celiacs disease, thyroid function and aneamia and infection coz apparently theres no infection with IBS. I also had to have a some stool tests done for H. Pylori and infection. I'me waiting for the results of a stool test to check for blood which i'me really stressing about. Hope this is some help xxx
