    After stopping Citalopram, how long does it take to come out of the system?

    I'm coming off Citalporam and wondered if anyone knows how long it takes to leave the system as i want my memory back!?

    You need to come off these slowly ..It takes 33 hours for half the dose to come out of your system The same for the next 33 hrs and so on .You will have discontinuation syndrome after/during this time .People vary some dont feel too bad others do ,but it can last 4-6weeks for you to feel well again ,Maybe longer .How much are you currently taking and what has your Dr told you to do with the doses with regard to coming off them? I see by another of your posts you have been taking them every 6 days ...not advisable Sue
