sorry if tmi but dark stools and scared

I have been suffering with ha now for some weeks and have posted a couple of time on here. After developing a stange sensation under my breast I became convinced that I had breast cancer. I was refereerd and all was found to be normal. Now I am scared that i have stomach cancer. It started on Friday night when I went to the loo and noticed that my stools were really dark. I googled and now fear it is old blood! I was wondeing if anyone else has experienced such dark stools. On closer inspection (sorry) the stools are very dark but brown on the tissue. I haven't been eating much because I am so anxious but have been drinking red wine! I have not taken any iron or other such things. Please can anyone reassure me? Has anyone else had very dark stools? Am over analysing it all? Forgive me for such a gross topic but I had to ask!

Red wine will make your stools very dark, nothing to worry about.

Like the others have said red wine can make your poo dark, and stuff like beetroot etc - this can also make your urine a funny colour, My OH ate nearly a whole jar of pickled beetroot the other week and then called me into the bathroom as he had just done a wee and he thought he was bleeding - he was as white as a sheet -
