Lowered then Upped Dose

Hey Guys

Was just seeing if anyone has had any experience with this.

I was on 40mg Fluoxetine for over a year and was tapered off to 20 over a few months and was doing fine.

I then got some strange man-flu and my anxiety kicked in big time.

I have an app. with the Doc tomorrow, and i'm fairly sure he is going to up my dose again so has anyone had experiences with this? timescales to kick in? Is it quicker than initial?

Not sure if anyone is reading this, but here is an update.

Doc has put me back up to 40mg Fluoxetine and has given me Propranolol to take alongside

Hi A, I did read your post but didn't feel I could contribute anything as I haven't tried dropping from 40mg since I went on it a year ago. I do hope you feel the positive effects of going back up soon tho and don't encounter SEs ( I don't think I did when I made the initial step up from 20-40 xx

Hi Jane,

I'm not sure as to whether the return of the anxiety has been triggered by my man-flu or vice versa..

Anyway, for the moment i'm not going to focus on the past, just the future.

I did raise concerns that i thought that i had been brought off them too fast but I don't think he really wanted to comment on that (i went from 40-20 without alternating) so if you are going to come off them or lower your dose, do 40-20-40-20 for a while.

i'm rambling...

I'm feeling pretty good today, had some pre-doctor jitters, but i'm not feeling scared of going to bed tonight and waking up at 3am with my heart pounding.
