    Throat probs, Anxiety or something else??

    Had some throat issues since July time.

    Issues such as >Feeling of something stuck in my throat >Dry Mouth/Lips >Uncomfortable Mouth/Throat >Feeling of excessive saliva >The need to swallow excessively/constantly, I seem to swallow over and over again and when i eat something i feel like i have to swallow 5-10 afterwards for some reason.

    Could this be something bad or is it or could it be anxiety?

    Having a dry mouth and lump in the throat are fairly normal anxiety symptoms.

    Although I had throat problems for 3 days last week. Excessive saliva, needing to swallow over and over and it hurt each time, kept me awake all night. I'm not sure what it was but mine wasn't anxiety, I put it down to hayfever.

    I have had a lump in the throat feeling for a while now and it is sometimes accompanied by a clicking sensation when I swallow, like my throat cartlidge is catching on something. I think and hope it is all down to my HA...

    I had an endoscopy last October (not related to my throat problem) so I would think that this would of picked anything up in my throat.

    Unless you have red flag symptoms below .It would not suggest thay anything is causing it but an Anxious state .;

    Neck throat pain .
    Unexplained weight loss .this could be caused by many things so not really important .
    Pain choking and difficulty swallowing .
    Regurgitation of food .
    Muscle weakness .
    Palpable viable Mass ..Diagnosed by a Laryngoscopy or similar procedure .
    Progressive worsening of symptoms .
    Onset after the age of 50 .
    .A lot of these things can also be caused by Tension related to Anxiety .If you are unduly concerned your Gp will examine you and refer you if he deems it necessary . Sue

    And of those, the ones that a medic would jump on most quickly are the last 3 on the list. In the main, symptoms that come and go aren't normally suggestive of anything serious (unless we're talking about the biggies, like angina or seizures).
