    Post tooth extraction - phlegm?

Had my two upper wisdom teeth removed on Monday at 2.45pm - so far it looks like there is a clot and the bleeding is less than it was, also I have only taken 1x500mg paracetomal for the pain and that's it, however I seem to have loads of phlegm!

My mouth just fills up with it and I am not sure why. It doesn't taste nasty or smell and is clear (sometimes with a bit of blood in it from the tooth area) but still very confusing. I did give up smoking on Friday so I am wondering if maybe it is my lungs clearing but I don't really have a cough so I am not just not sure.

    Anyone else have this post-extraction?

Totally normal, also you tooth hole may have been packed with gauze and possibly clove oil but you would be able to taste that.
stopping smoking will have that affect too, you may also get a cough as your body is trying to clean you lungs
