Re: What is it to be alone?
Maddie,
I do hope your father is feeling better now, although you said "are you ready for a laugh" i couldnt help feeling your poor father must have been in a lot of distress and then of course your poor mother she must of been beside herself with worrie about him, it seems you had so much to cope with i suppose you either laugh or cry in those situations. i guess its probably better to laugh......But thats something i havent done in a long long time..
Please send my best wishes to you father i hope he is feeling better soon..
Take care Maddie
Dan

Re: What is it to be alone?
Thank you all for your kind words. Mostly, thanks to Nic, Alex and the rest of the team for making this site so that there are people out there I can let off steam to.
Dan, I wasn't really laughing at my Dad's misfortune. I was shocked and shaking when I wrote the post. For me, it was the only way to deal with a dreadful situation.
Anyway, Dad felt much better last night. They had given him morphine which had made him hallucinate. Now that's out of his system, he is talking sense and looks much better, if frail. They are keeping him in longer than planned - at least until Monday.
Eclipse, could I just tuck in under your wing, please? I'm only little

Re: What is it to be alone?
Aww Bill you made me all tearful then.
You know that I am always here to help you and anyone else that needs support, words of wisdom or just a quick mail to see how things are going.
May NMP live on for many years to come to help others.
We really do have a fab bunch of people here

Oh bless......
..........of course you can Maddie.
I might not be a 'frequent' visitor - which I've yet to discover is a good thing or a bad thing....(in so far as, I don't know whether I'm letting people down by not visiting more often to give support or a good thing cos I'm standing on my own two feet more now)......but there'll ALWAYS be room under my, and everyone elses, wings for another one!
That's the beauty of NMP!

I'm glad you liked what I wrote Nic. I said everything most sincerely.

Just one of my old poems for you Nic, Eclipse and everyone else who offer their comforting wings ....(Every day I wish I could pull one out of my pocket to keep me going too!)
My Angel
Seen in the gathering gloom,
Her wings alight in a brilliant white,
Oh, what a sight to behold,
This beautiful angel; this wondrous sight,
Never knowing when she is near,
Seen only through a forgotten tear,
Day or night you will see her clear,
For when in need, she will always appear,
With her comforting wings, surrounding and secure,
She takes you in with her soft warm lure,
With a smile of kindness and with the light in her eyes,
The heavy gloom lifts to reveal bright blue skies,
This angel of wonder in whose company I am meek,
Forever helping to find the security I seek,
Never leave me my dear angel of mine,
Help me through life, an often difficult climb,
I beg you dear angel, show me through your love,
Please help me through times when they are so rough,
My pure white angel, so warm and soft,
Help me to find the laughs I have lost.

Re: What is it to be alone?
Bill,
Another beautiful piece, of which Nic is the most worthy recipient.
The rest of us just follow by her example
You certainly are one very talented & compassionate man

Eclipse
Talented is open to question. JohnLuke Certainly is!
Compassion is my weakness as it makes me too soft, caused my trap and left me feeling alone. Sorry
Nic the most worthy recipient? Yes and no because knowing her she'll want you to feel just as worthy because you're both equally very caring...and I can't see any reason to disagree with her!

Re: What is it to be alone?
Your right Bill, 'Talented' is open to question. I agree with Eclipse though and you are not 'Talented' but 'Very Talented'. And compassion isn't your weakness it is your strength. It's what makes you so appreciated by the other members (including me ). So keep up the good work.
Take care Bill,
John

Re: What is it to be alone?
JeanLuke at the moment I very much fear total obliteration. I'm a mess and it's becoming harder to hang in there. I find myself wondering if I go over the edge, will I know? Is it worth fighting to stay this side of madness?
