3 days in and feeling nervous!!
Hello,
I'm my 3rd day of Sertraline. Ive had anxiety problems for a few years but recent family events and more stress at work lead me to go to the doctor for some help, which is when he perscribed me this. So far I am struggling with the side effects. Sore throat, twitching hands, restless sleep, but mostly the problem is Jaw Clenching! My teeth/jaw is aching!
Has anyone else has this problem?
Does anyone have any idea what I have to expect over the next few weeks?
Will it get better?
Thanks for reading,
Tink x

Re: 3 days in and feeling nervous!!
Hi Tink, I've been taking Sertraline for about 5 weeks now, and at first had restless legs and jaw clenching. I started out with 50mg for 4 weeks then increased to 100mg. The restless legs and jaw clenching have now passed. I still feel mildly depressed but hope that will go in the next week or two.
It gets better darlin

Refer to my post above.
You should feel an improvement over the next couple of weeks. You need to keep yourself busy and do stuff that diverts attention away from your illness. One morning you'll wake up and it wont feel so bad

Re: 3 days in and feeling nervous!!
Hello Tink
I started on Sertraline coming up to 6 weeks now, 3 weeks on 50mg and nearly 3 weeks on 100mg. I had all of those side effects you had, plus a load more, loss of appetite for 4 days, nausea, diarrehoea, at night numbness in my arms from the elbow to my hands, shaky heart as though it was on a piece of elastic!!!!! raging thirst etc. But not everyone gets them, try to stick with them and give them a chance as they're helping me, although I'm not 100% yet. But remember everyone is different.
Hi Alfredo1
I agree with Mr wallace, try to give them a little longer

Re: 3 days in and feeling nervous!!
Hey guys, thank you so much for your advice. Booked in to see the doctor again next week so I'm gonna stick it out. Not feeling any better yet, if anything a little more on edge than usual...!! But apparently thats normal... it gets worse before it gets better.
Its nice to know i'm not alone :-)

Re: 3 days in and feeling nervous!!
Hi Tink,
I'm on another AD but had similar symptoms to you at the start, especially the jaw clenching which I seemed to do when I was awake and asleep. It's got better but I still do it a bit - I think maybe I always did when I was anxious but I notice it more now. Chewing gum seems to help.
Take care
Pip xx

Re: 3 days in and feeling nervous!!
Paxil isn't the same as Sertraline, it's the same as Seroxat
