Can debris cause nodes to swell near throat?

Hi everyone I haven't been here in a while, I've been doing so well with my anxiety, I wish I could say the same about stress.

So around 3 days ago the left side of my throat felt sore, I thought I may be getting a sore throat or cold, but It seemed weird that it didn't really hurt to swallow, so anyways today it kept bothering me when I'd turn my head or even drink something, so I took a like around and I now know it's a little knot that's hurting, I assume it's a little node, it's sensitive to touch. Anyway I just recently started a job in a steel factory where we cut steel weld and grind a lot, at the end of the day my nose has like black dust or whatever in it, so I'm sure this same stuff is getting in my throat, could this stuff be irritating my node?

Yes, dusty environments can irritate throats. This can mean nodules swell up.

If it doesn't go away then it's time to address whether there is something that can be done about the environment or whether some treatment is needed to help it reduce hence a quick trip to a GP.

I have a node that popped up three days ago too. Right behind my ear lobe. Tender to touch and pretty small. It's funny you mention dust, because I don't feel sick at all. BUT, I did just cut my grass for the first time this season and there was some dust kicked up. I also have a big bump in my mouth. so that could be it, too.

Your work environment doesn't sound right. And here is my opinion and unsolicited advice....You should not have dust in your nose at the end of the day, well, in my world at least. Do they have masks with filters for you to use? I know it's hard to do this, but I would ask/figure out if they are out of compliance with OSHA (if Trump hasn't dismantled OSHA, @@). You need to tell them you are going home with dust in your nose and you would like a safety mask. Hope I haven't intruded, but workers have rights!
