    Bright red burning cheeks

Of my face I hasten to add!! I am always rosy cheeked even though I am now middle aged but these last few days the weather here in hills of lake district has been very cold and I have noticed if i am outside for any time about 30 mins after I come back into the warm my face cheeks! suddenly feel like they are on fire and look bright red and are very hot to touch. It takes about 2 hrs for it to calm down.

Anyone else get this. I am assuming its some reaction to the cold air??

    Re: Bright red burning cheeks

Hi countrygirl. I believe there is a condition called rosacea that can mean red cheeks flare up more in extreme temperatures, also for some people drinking alcohol or eating spicy food. Its nothing serious and a dermatologist would recomend the right treatment, whether orally or surface treatment. It sounds like in your case it was coming in from extreme cold to the warm triggered it. I never suffered with it too badly until i hit the menopause, and now i get it if i drink red wine sometimes. My cheeks become very red and hot for a few hours, then it just goes away again.

    Hope this helps
