Everything is going through me, this is very serious. Sooner I get seen the better.
Nicola, I am sorry to hear that. I know nocturnal toilet visits are another sign of IBD and this happens on and off for me. Not sure if it does for IBS?
I don't go much in the night just in the day and about 10 minutes after eating.

That's what worries me. When I get into these flares, I can be up two or three times in the night. The nocturnal visits to the loo are not normal.
Hi Have you tried Buscopan to give you some relief? It's worth a try if it was really serious your dr would have made a urgent referral
They did but the gastroentrologist said it was just gastroenteritis but it is clearly not. The private referral letter has been sent so will make sure it was sent on Monday then I will be seen quickly and hopefully have the tests 2 weeks on.
They may be able to do a test on the day.
I went privately (as my ex had free private health insurance from work) and they did exam me internally (I think it was a rigid sigmoidoscopy) and he said straight away that he thought it was Crohn's and then referred me for a flexible sigmoidoscopy. This was without any blood tests or anything else.

Be honest, Did any of the procedures hurt? I am terrified of the idea of endoscopy/colonscopy
I never have sedation or anything with the colonoscopy. I like to watch it on the screen - quite fascinating.
I had gas and air once but last time I didn't even need that.
The prep day is horrid though - I fear that more!
It doesn't hurt - just uncomfortable and you feel bloated afterwards because of the air they pump in.

Wow, You are brave. I will definitely need sedation.
I have heard the prep is worse then the procedures. Considering I am on the toilet all the time anyway at he moment that part won't be a problem. The sheer load of the foul drinks will be nasty but I would rather the prep was the worst part rather then the procedure itself.
