Sore throat for 7 weeks

Hi everyone,

My symptoms started towards end of April. Severe headaches and a bad sore throat. Then there were face pains and my temples used to hurt. No runny nose and can't feel any mucus draining to my throat. I've been to urgent care twice where I was given amoxylin.

I don't have the headaches anymore but this mildish sore throat remains. Its worse when I wake up and pretty bad after I have a cheese cake or drink milk. It's just so damn annoying .

It mainly hurts when I swallow and just doesn't seem to get better.

I've been drinking loads of water and find myself clearing my throat right after a big glass spitting out clear thick mucus.

My GP gave me avamys last week. She said it'll take a week to kick in but I'm not seeing any results.

Please guys I really need help. Not sure what's going on and I'm starting to panick a little

Just wondering if you ever found a solution to your sore throat? I'm having similar struggles

My Dad had a sore throats for 2 months and turned out he had thrush of the throat.

Do you have allergies? You may want to remove all dairy from your diet for a while and possibly get an allergy test done. It could be the dairy or it could be environmental allergies. Have you tried taking any antihistamines? Clear mucus in abundance is a possible sign allergies instead of any type of illness, espcially if you've taken antibiotics.
