    Mechanics of walking.

So the current thing I'm struggling with is walking.

I can't seem to get my head around it. It basically feels like the bit where my foot pushes me off the ground is not me. It feels like my brain is not connected to what I'm doing at all. It's like though I've learnt to walk, but I don't know how to. It just happens. I literally can't explain how I'm doing it.

    Thoughts?

This is one of my most common symptoms. It's simply because you are thinking about it too much. You have become aware of your legs when walking, so you examine each movement, rather than just doing it.

I do this all of the time. The only way to escape it is to stop thinking about it, which I know is easier said than done when your legs feel like rubber/wood/dead.

It's normal - if you have anx that is.

The main problem I have is when my foot leaves the floor. No matter how much I try to make sense of it, it feels I'm in no way making my foot consciously or unconsciously do it in that natural motion. If I adjust it and walk really flat footed I can make sense of it, it's just the sort of rolling motion it makes when you 'walk naturally'. It's like my foot becomes a separate entity when it comes to walking.
