Hyperflexia, help!

I have tested my knee reflexes and when I hit my knee it seems like I have brisk reflexes. My knee shoots straight up. Not a little movement but shoots straight up. Does anybody else have this or does this mean upper motor syndrome, like m.s etc..... like I just read on Google. Please help me.

You can't test your own reflexes. And, even if you could, you wouldn't know what to look for. Stay off Google.

Let me rephrase. Has any neurologist told you that you have hyperflexia and it be benign.?

Reflexes occur on a spectrum from normal to abnormal. Only a doctor can make the call. Brisk reflexes can be entirely normal, especially if symmetrical. Brisk reflexes are not synonymous with hyperreflexia.

I watched you tube videos of knee reflexes . It seems some people knees are slower to react and there knees don't move so much where mine come straight up quick. Maybe it depends on how hard you hit them. What's a brisk reflex? Isn't that the same as hyperflexia? Upper motor neurons disease doesn't always have to be serious right? Wish I didn't know so much. The Internet is ruining you, Emanticoff. Googling, watching vids, self-testing, going on forums... Don't do this to yourself. There is a spectrum of so-called normal to abnormal reflexes, as Melfish says. It's highly likely yours is normal...but then you self-test and come up with all sorts of sinister illnesses.

Your problem is anxiety and panic. Until you accept that fact, look it in the eye and face it, this cycle will unfortunately continue.
