i really dont know if anyone can relate to this but i will say it anyway.
i was doing a uni degree and ended up touching my face with my glove contaminated with I-125 (radioiodine). I tried to hold it together and not fret through the practical. at the end i checked my face with the geiger counter and the demonstrator said that background radiation is about 5.
the reading on my face was about 7 i think- not sure but it went a bit above 5. I did not tell her and i left the lab i started getting really scared.
went home started coughing up some blood i was so freaked. long and short of story i ended up in a hospital mental ward because i became suicidal i thought i was radioactively poisoned- thought i may have ingested it!
i fell into a deep depression which i am still in.
did eventually get checked by professor after like week and half but am still really scared as to whether i have done damage to myself.
how do i calm myself down......any scientists here!?
please help......this is not a joke im really serious.
thanx for advice guys even if its just tips on getting out of a deep depression. psychiatrist put me on escitalopram.
