Stress (fitness) test

Hi does anyone know if local gyms in britain allow you to do fitness stress tests to measure your heart health during excercise? i would like to get one done but not sure how to go about it.

the reason i'd like one is because i know of a few guys playing amatuer football who've collapsed and sadly died, and as i'm already a worrier i'd like to get that out my mind.

I don't know about the UK but in the US, a cardiac stress test (normal and nuclear) are ordered by a cardiologist and done in strict controlled environments.... ain't cheap either!

Question is... are you at any risk to even have one?
