Hospital update.

I wasn't sure whether to post this in here or one of the success threads but people wanted me to update them about my acid reflux.
My doctors understudy referred me to see a specialist about my acid reflux in December and I had my appoint this afternoon, she said my omeprazole is working well and suggested I try Gaviscon advanced at the same time to kind of stop my food regurgitating. she doesn't see the point in going through an endoscopy because that would only tell how inflamed my throat is, she suggested we do a Barium swallow because that would show if I have any issues like a narrower throat or hernia ect. and then we can go about possibly testing more medications afterwards but overall she's happy.
I'm still very anxious about the Barium test so I'll see if I can manage to do it but overall she's not concerned which is great x.

Good for you, Aiden. And it's nice hear a doctor tell someone they don't think they need a endoscopy for once. I've been eating Tums as a supplement with my pantoprazole, to take care of really bad reflux sometimes, but I have heard Gaviscon is really good stuff for that as well. I just may try some of that myself.

I've been on tums myself as well lol she said an endoscopy would only really tell whether acid is irritating my throat which is pointless as I'm omeprazole, so a barium is a little less invasive and she can still tell if I have a throat that won't drain properly ect. but considering my age and the fact I've only had it for three years she thinks it just down to IBS and Anxiety so that's another weight off my shoulders
