    Venlafaxine cross taper begins

So I thought I may start a ven cross taper diary. Last night I came off a small dose of quetiapine, 12.5mg so I had a rubbish sleep and feel a bit shaky today. I am coming off citalopram at 30mg so today I've to go down to 20mg citalopram and start ven at 37.5mg and I am realllly nervous.

I have been on cit for many years and this is my first time switching. I don't know if this will not seem as bad as I'll be getting the serotonin I'm missing from the ven with the decrease.

The lack of sleep might partially be the nerves of starting this and coming off the quetiapine then the bad stories about withdrawals from ven.

I'll need to keep my fingers crossed

Don't think about bad stories coming off Ven Debs.
I came of Ven three times, and each time it was very smooth and easy.
The last time back in January 2013, my GP took me off 187.5mg and about 4 days later started on another med .
No withdrawal symptoms at all .
I was scared at first, but very positive, saying to myself, 'This is going to be fine'.

Thanks for your positivity Tony, I've had such a bad time with my dr messing my citalopram dosage I've had every side effect going so I'm maybe a bit nervous of lowering that again too.

All the best, you probably feel a bit crap and slept crap as you are nervous about the switch. I'm sure it will go smoothly
