    Pristiq and Really Bad Nausea

So today I started taking Pristiq, 50 mg, and 2 hours after I started it I became very very sick to my stomach. Im super nauseous I cant even stand sometimes. I still very nauseous.

Anyone else have this? Or had it? Does it get better?

It is not uncommon with antidepressants which affect serotonin. Serotonin isn't just a brain neurotransmitter. In fact it isn't even the biggest user. The enteric nervous system, the mini brain which controls the gut, makes and uses around 95% of the serotonin made in the body compared to a little under 2% by the brain, and serotonergic antidepressants can play havoc with it for awhile.

Vit B6 supplements are often recommended for morning sickness nausea and may help with the SSRI variety too, as may ginger. If they aren't the answer then ask your doctor for a solution.
