    Food and PD

    Hey all,

One of my huge problems with PD and my attacks is that it really decreases my appetite and I feel nauseas (sp?)/churning stomach a lot. The last time I had severe attacks I threw up every time I tried to eat. This time I'm not throwing up, but I can't seem to eat more than a few bites of anything. I'm eating rice, toast, applesauce and bananas, but I don't feel like it gives me enough energy.

Does anyone else have this type of problem? Can you reccomend some foods to try?

    Hi Stephie

Loss of appetite and nausea are common symptoms of anxiety.

Have a read through some of these posts:

    Sorry to bother you again.....

Try to eat little and often. Drinking something like soda or tonic water can help with trapped air problems, and aloe vera could help a churny tummy.

THis is totally normal when you have heightened anxiety.

Try things like a handful of nuts and dried fruit, humous, guacamole , scrambled egg .

It passes as you relax more and keep bringing up that excess air that is being produced as a sideline of the adrenaline

hi steph[and katy]i think it goes either way, depends what keeps you safe[or you think it keeps you safe]like any eating disorder, you will under eat ,starve due to fear,or over eat, like filling a hole or getting rid of anger[eating it so to speak]i have done both and am now battlin a weight problem.Others will be battling an under weight problem..all part of the same disorder, just comes in different clothes!!we are here for you and will support you thru this.love mary-rose.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
