    paranoid after reading scary story

Earlier I came across a scary story, it was a bit like chainmail but not exactly. I'd rather not go into details about it considering it will just make me panic even more.

Anyways, because of that story I feel like I won't be getting sleep tonight. I feel that if I do so, I'll die in my sleep or be stuck forever in a nightmare. I've been paranoid for hours and even though I'm trying to distract myself, i can't get the damn story out of my head. It's really messing with me and giving me extreme paranoia.

What do I do, it was so realistic, I feel like i'm going to die!! Help...

You called it a scary "story". To me, that's not real and akin to any other "story" that's ever been told. that means it's up to you to determine the reality and that's a choice we make. Choose to believe it's fantasy as opposed to reality.
