Later on it collapsed but he didn't want to go through that again, it's not a pleasant couple of weeks unable to breath up your nose, and he ended up clearing his throat a lot because of it. This was the likely reason why the nodule inflamed eventually.
If you do a lot of forceful throat clearing, maybe it is something like that even?

I have had constant post nasal drip ever since I had "man flu" as I call it, even though Im female and a real wimp with illnesses

It crackles when I yawn and does pop and then goes muffly again.

Have you not had any antibiotics prescribed? I suffer with acute sinusitus which has symptoms as you describe although I have pain in my face and I'm off balance too. got to love the ears, nose and throat all being connected :(

No, i havent.
I know previously I had a sinus infection and my GP would not give me any as he said mine was a virus and not bacterial as my inflammation markers were not raised. Funny thing is that I saw another GP who gave me some and it went

It's a good sign you have no pain, so it could be build up of wax or sinus-related problem.
