I am so scared about my mum(postmenopausal bleeding)!

Please someone give me some words to calm me down.

My mum is 57, she's had irregular periods all her like and in her 30's she hadn't had a period for two years.

2 years ago her periods stopped again, with no signs of menopause what so ever.

She got some bleeding today and felt like she was having some period pain.

I know she probably won't go to the doctor, I am insanely worried right now. I can't stop thinking she has some sort of cancer. I think I've worried her a little by my reaction. I am so scared, but I think with her history of irregular periods etc it makes it all a little less worrying.

I don't want to scare her, I just wish this wasn't happening right now. She said it it carries on she'll go to the doctor.

I've Googled that sometimes women after menopause to experience bleeding. Oh my god I'm on the verge of a panic attack.

So I've really worked myself up and I'm in am absolute state rn, I can't stop crying. I'm going to ask my mum to visit the doc. Just for the peace of mind. I hate that it's all happening at Christmas.

Thankyou for your kind words. Mum said it feels like exactly like a period today. I have read online women can have a period after a few years of nothing. I mean I can't help but worry but she isn't worried in the slightest. She says she remembers being young and women who hit menopause got their period again after a few years.

Ugh I'm trying to not let it completely take over me. I'm trying to get on with life as normal but it's all at the back of my head :( I cannot stop thinking its cancer which is silly because I know it's unlikely.

Is it totally normal because I can't find enough evidence online of it being normal and it's freaking me out because I'm finding all sorts of things that are telling me it should be immediately checked out.

Mum said it's normal. I think I've taken this and blew it all out of proportion.
