fleshy lump in throat near tonsils .. could this be cancer?

Wondering if somebody can help :(
Looking in the mirror the other day I noticed near my tonsils I had some fleshy bumps come up im really worried its cancer :( I was just at the doc yesterday for something else so dont want to go back yet. Does anybody have this or know what it could be? :(

Hi there, It doesn't look as if anybody can relate to what you've shown so far sorry, and although you say you'd prefer not to go back to your doctor again so soon, he/she is the best person to diagnose what it could be. I'm sure its nothing to worry about, so try not to, but best to ask the doc.

If you don't want to go to the doctor again so soon, perhaps just go to a pharmacy and show the pharmacist? They might know what it is and might be able to suggest something you can take for it

I have a fleshy lump right behind my tonsil that is scaring me as well. Also worried it's cancer :-(

Hey everyone thanks for replying .. spuder no Ive had tonsil srones before I believe this is completely different .. Agadach I may have to do that .. but think ita best if I go back to my GP im sure they want to section me by now!

Worried I know how u feel :( believe me , seems like weve got alot of simmilar things going on inside our mouths lol is ur lump simmilar to mine?

I have got a lump or something in the tonsil area too and I freaked out about it when I first saw it. However, there are lumps and bumps all over our mouth and throat and they go up and down all the time, especially in the tonsil area. It might be perfectly normal and I have decided to leave mine alone and only worry if it starts giving me any problems or gets bigger. As far as I know I might have had this forever and only found it because I was stupidly scrutinising my mouth with a torch - dont ever do that! Maybe you should have posted this in the health anxiety section rather than symptoms and you might have got a few more answers. x

Hey humly thank you for taking the time out to reply to me! It hasnt given me any bother, no pain , it seems a healthy colour .. I only found it because I too was shining a torch down my throat :( .. I do really want to ignore it and not go to the gp about it but its bugging me .. or should I say my anxiety is .. the lump you have does it look anything like mine? Where exactly is it?
