    Anxiety eyes

Has any one felt during anxiety or panic that their eyes cant blink ?
Its like staring without notising it.
I am sure this is what gives the feeling of being spaced out and depersonalised.

I have always had this sensation but for some reason its only lately I have notised it, no wonder after a panic i feel my eyes are tired.

Today when i did the school run I forced myelf to blink when i felt this sensation along with my breathing and got thru it.

Eyes are not mentioned much yet I feel are a very important part of an anxiety/panic attack. Infact is it documented anywhere about a blind person having PANIC ATTACKS ?

    HI mum2FOUR,

I have had the blinking usually when anxious but not severe .
I get the staring sensation out shopping like my bodys on high alert then the spaced out feeling comes.
I really feel I need to control my eyes as they seem to be the start of my panics , today i am going to see my councillor and will mention this to see what she says.[:I]

    THANKS NICOLA,

I looked at them posts and they are all about visual distubances.
I would be very interested in any topics about Blind people .
My eyes find it hard to blink when I am out shopping........then i feel the panic coming on and I am convinced my eyes start all the trouble.

    Yes Nic,

I remember that one too. A theory that no 'from birth' blind people had panics and it was all due to visual stimuli .

I called the royal society for blind and put it to them and they reeled off several people they could think of who had had them.

Will look for it later time permitting.

This is an interesting post, although I am a little confused (easy done lol)
If people suffer from panic and loose their vision for whatever reason, will the panics go away? I was diagnosed with mine shortly after finding I had a problem with my eyes?

Hi just got back from holiday and catching up on all the latest posts!

Read that link and it sounds interesting about "eyes"

I am supposed to wear glasses (do sometimes) but feel I hate wearing them, I am short sighted quite badly I think as I cant read road signs until I am right up close to them........ lol.

How many members wear glasses on here or have eye problems ?

No Alexis - the theory is that it can only be true of those who have never seen anything and thus have no stimulii. If you have seen , you have memory which as we know as far as panic is concerned is just as strong as reality.
