Momentary jolts where it feels like the floor has moved or is falling?

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone else has this symptom with their anxiety, and if so, is there a reason for it? Sometimes I have a momentary bodily jolt where I feel like the floor has shifted or dropped. It startles me and normally only lasts a couple of seconds. It can happen when I am sitting, walking, or laying down.

    Thanks so much!

Yes I get this. No idea why, but it’s scary isn’t it.
I assume it’s because I’m tense (even when I don’t think I am). Usually I just take a moment to deep breathe a few times, and then I carry on as normal x

It is scary! I will do better to take some purposeful breaths when it happens and see if that helps. It's so jarring and it comes out of no where. I tried to look up brain zaps, but they seem like different things?

I get it occasionally. I've never linked it to anxiety, but it makes sense.

I have it too. Or feelings that my head is being pulled back for a split second..it's like a 'woah, what was that?!' situation. I have had it since I was 11, I am 30 now and don't have anything physically wrong. However, last time I went to the chiropractor, he had mentioned that vertigo can be 'neck' induced.. and further worsened by stress induced tension of the neck muscles. Your neck and ears coincide a lot.

Yes I get this too, it's honestly reassuring to know other people are experiencing this, for some reason it seems to happen to me occasionally in the shower, not sure if the heat could play into it or just the being in a confined space

I got this exactl feeling if I missed dose of my antidepressant (duloxetine) - it took me a while to work out that this was the cause of it!
