(Male) UTI Symptoms - Test came back clear. Now freaking out I have prostate cancer..

Hi all,

Sorry to bother you but you lot are some of the most reassuring people on the internet and understand better than others

I frequently (a few times a year) get UTI type sensations, a pain in my lower abdomen, the constant urgent need to pee, generally feeling run down. Every time the tests have come back clear. I drink a ton of water (no diabetes, had that checked too) so that cant be playing a part.

Today my results came back clear and now the only thing my mind can think of is "prostate cancer". Probably because my granddad died of it last year.

I know how powerful the mind can be in creating physical symptoms - years of chestpain and inflamed lymph nodes taught me that but I'll be damned if I'm not freaking out.

Is there anyone in a similar situation or that can offer advice?

Well I'd say your are out of the woods regarding PCa. They say most people die with Prostate cancer and not of it. If you are really concerned speak with your GP, unless you have a brother with it or your father is diagnosed, or you're off Afro Caribbean descent it's highly unlikely, and all but unheard of at 24. Sleep soundly

Thanks for your kind words Kark. I do feel a little better today. Not 100% but probably good enough to get in to work tomorrow!

For what it's worth, my granddad isn't even my biological granddad so no link there...
