    Slow heart rate...terrified...

My heart rate has dropped to it's 50's....I checked it on one of those iphone monitors (it checks other things as well) and it says my body is too relaxed and in 'danger' and my body is stressed due to illness.

My resting heart rate is always in the 70's so this is weird for me. I feel spaced out and weird now and I don't know if it's anxiety from the reading. I keep checking it and it's only getting worse. I'm so scared.

I'm on my own, I'm scared I'm going to black out and die. I don't know what to do.

I wouldn't trust an iphone monitor - do it properly yourself.

The idea that your body is too relaxed and in danger by having a heart rate in the 50's is ridiculous.

Get up and walk around a bit, it'll go up.

My heart rate is usually in the 50s when I wake up in the morning.

A resting heart rate in the 50's is awesome! Athletes often have theirs in the 50's. I would celebrate that! I have to take meds to make that happen

Hope you have a great weekend!

I wouldn't put much faith in that an iphone monitor. Your heart rate fluctuates sometimes. I'd check it on your wrist and see what it is. But I wouldn't get in the habit of doing that.

My resting heart rate is 57 taken by a 24 hour Holter monitor and they never mentioned anything to be about being concerned.

60 to 100 is the norm. But some athletic and fit people have low resting heart rate. Unless you feel that you gonna pass out or unable to do your normal stuff thats the time to have it check.

Wow that's great but do not trust an iPhone app..For things like that, they are not accurate.

    Re: Slow heart rate...terrified...

I had a horrible night. I was too scared to go to sleep because I thought if it was already low then it would probably stop all together if I went to sleep, so I’ve been up most of the night. Checked my pulse in my neck a few times this morning and still VERY low for me, low 60s, it’s very odd, especially after a night of no sleep and anxiety. I don’t know why it’s suddenly so low and my pulse feels weak. I didn’t feel unwell before I checked my pulse. I don’t want to have to go to A&E but this just seems so abnormal to me :( I’m far from an Athlete!!! I barely leave the house. I’m 31 years old and a normal(ish) weight...

As everybody here has already mentioned, it's not low. It's normal.

    Stop checking.
