    Herbal pills

    Hi Everyone,

I have suffered with anxiety/panic for 3 years now, I am on anti depressants (escitalopram 20mg), but even though they make me feel better than I was, I still feel anxious alot. I was wondering if any of you know if I could take something like Kalms as well as my anti -d's.
I worry about taking tablets anyway, because of side effects etc, so I was wanting to know if any of you take herbal pills alongside any prescribed by the doctor.

    Thanks for reading

    Take Care

I am not taking anything else but I do take StJohns Wort for anxiety although it doesnt take the edge of things completely but then what does? It does help a little. I also take Gingko Biloba.

    Hiya

I think you can take most herbal meds with your prescription apart from St Johns Wort but its all really down to how you feel as an individual cos herbal meds aren't a 'one size fits all'. If you see a proper homeopathic doctor, they will make something up especially for you and even then they have to muck about with doses quite a lot. Most of the over the counter herbal things seem to say you have to take quite a few tablets for one 'dose'. Perhaps you could try taking half what they recommend and see how you feel?
