    Ear pressure, anyone else?

I had sinusitis a few weeks ago, all gone now (well I think so) but im left with a full ear feeling in left ear, tube from ear to throat, just feels full of pressure like I need to pop it., also feel pressure in left nostril now & again. Could this be stress? my dr said my ears looked normal when he looked down them on wednesday..

I am getting myself all in a tizz, I have seen a dr 3x in 3 weeks so I don't want to go race back the drs tomorrow I know they must all laugh at me. Dr last week said its nothing at all to worry about but its still here and im worrying. I have to fly tuesday aswell, dr also said that was fine.

Arghh can anyone stop me worrying about this?

    Hi Cherry,

Stress can cause all sorts of strange symptoms and many people on here, myself included, have had this ear pressure from time to time but it does go away on its own. In your case, it's almost certainly just an after effect from your sinusitis, so nothing to worry about - everything is settling back down nicely from what the doc has said. These things take time so try not to fret about it!

    Hiya,

I had sinusitis about a month ago and felt better after taking antibotics.
However since then I've had wierd ear pressure on and off and just a general feeling of my head feeling 'full' (so can't think of a better word for it!) and also my sinuses feel swollen sometimes.

Anyway I went back to the docs and he said my ears looked fine. He told me to use a nasal spray (Ovatrine I think) from the chemist to reduce the pressure in my sinuses when neded.
It feels really bad sometimes but can also feel loads better in the same day. I think it makes me anxious as I'm sure it can cause feelngs of being 'spaced out' or dizzy.
I guess it can just take a while to shift, if it gets worse I would do what my Doc suggested if my symptoms worsened and see an ENT specialist.
Oh, and inhaling steam helps too!

Try not to worry (much easier said than done) and remember you're not alone.

    Jo x.

    Re: Ear pressure, anyone else?

    Thanks,

I saw my dr again today as i flying tomorrow morning. He was fab, he explained it all, said my ears look fine but the pressure takes a while to subside in the tube from ear to throat after sinusitis. He has given me a steroid spray and told to take sudafed, see how I go for a month. So thats what I will do, if its still bad they may refer me who knows but im hoping that this will do the trick.

At least ive no sinusitis or ear infection.

I shall deffinatly get a facial steamer.

    Thanks again.

Hi - I had sinusitus a year ago and although I am well I know my left ear has a full feeling - I am also partly deaf now in my left ear. I get attacks of vertigo but know its all part of this ear prob - I get really dizzy then I panic - will see the dr about it I think aslast time he put me on steroid "up your nose" spray but had to only use it for 2 weeks as you get rebound blocked ears and nose if you get addicted to it!!!! HI, I was on steroid sprays for about 4 months last year and I was ok so don't worry about long term if your dr has told you to.

I was told its the sinusitis thats blocked my ear and it should ease now im back on the steroid spray.
