Barium Swallow.

Just had my letter through today for my barium swallow test, it's at 09:55 am, luckily it's mid morning so i won't be dehydrated for long like i was with my ultrasound
anyone else had one before? i know it's not painful but still nervous i have a phobia of doctors, hate tests, fear of an allergic reaction, and just overall not looking forward to it in general and especially having to wear a gown.
was wondering if anyone else could tell me their experiences, i know i'm being silly and it's important but i can't help but feel filled with dread.

Yep, did that 3 times in my life.

Tastes like chalk water. Last time I had strawberry... pft! It was slightly pink, didn't taste like strawberry at all.

Coolest thing is when you poop it out and it's solid white. :-)

I'm preparing for that, going to take plenty of water with me and buy some fybogel because my ibs sucks enough as it is
I'm honestly just dreading it so much but its a couple of weeks away so just trying to compose myself and not chicken out x

Don't cancel it. It's a completely pain-free harmless procedure and won't take too long at all to complete.

It may make you a bit constipated afterwards though but nothing worse than that. Just get it over with?

I have had one before and it was fine. When it passes back out though flush your loo a few times as it can block it!
