    Question on Palps.

    Hi everyone,

Ive just recently had food poisoning, It started Friday, (Never buy a KFC).

Was extremely ill friday night, was sick literally every half hour, from 12 - 9am.

I now have spots all over my face from the burst blood vessels. But that's irrevelant.

On Saturday afternoon, i couldn't go to the wrexham match cause i was so ill (:(), so i was lying on my sofa,

And at this point i had a fever, heart was pumping very fast.

And then i had Heart palps ever 5 beats or so for 2 hours.

    very scary indeed.

I just have a few questions:

    1. Are heart palps, the thing where your heart beats fine, then sort of pumps a big one very fast, you got a "rush" through your body then your ok again?

    2. People have reported, when they get heart palps, they have to "cough", Well i don't cough, i just sit there and let it happen, or take a big breath in?

    3. I don't get heart palps very often, i only seem to get them when my heart is pumping very fast (fever) and when im doing physical exercise.

This leads me to believe i have some kind of heart condition :(

    Please could someone reassure me?

    Thanks alot,

    -Jono

When you are ill, your anxiety is likely to get worse.
With a fever, your heart will beat faster.
These two things combined are likely to increase your palps. I know how scary it is, but it really is harmless.

I sometimes cough when I get them, sometimes not. I don't think it really makes any difference.
    Hope you feel better soon.
