The black mirror knows no reflection.
Go for a walk and make a cup of tea. Sometimes helps. Think of how nice the weather is and how warm it will be this weekend.
I know how you feel. I have the same. I even started smoking just for a distraction. I dont recommend that.
Slow breathing also helps. Or just stand up and shake it off and say to yourself "I am getting rid of my anxiety".
Walk away from your desk and talk to a friend.
What is driving the panic attack?
Hope it works out for you.
Your body is reacting from you thoughts by dumping Adrenalin into your system. The Fight or Flight reaction. You must identify what thoughts you are having so you can face them and dispel them with deep breathing and calming thoughts. I tell myself, I can do this. If you're at work, try and focus on what is at your desk and concentrate on what assignments need to be accomplished today. Do anything that will distract you from your intrusive thoughts.
Just like others said, repeating mantras really help. I like saying, "You're ok. Nothing ever happens," because nothing ever does happen.
Can you put on some music?
The more you fight your panic, the longer it stays. When I have panic attack, I simply let my body do whatever it needs to do. This helps me to stop my negative thoughts too, as I no longer think "I should not feel this way." The moment you stop fighting your panic, you also stop being so tense, and you are able to relax more. It is kind of paradox, but it helps tons
Clean out a drawer, look at some pictures, walk around your office. I find that doing these mundane things helps tremendously .
