    Fluoxetine-increase after 16 years

Hi I wonder if anyone can help. Fluoxetine has been great for me for the last 16 years having previously had bouts of depression on and off for ten years. I have had my life back. But this last week, after a chest infection, flu-type symptoms and some strong antibiotics I have had symptoms of anxiety and depression return. It has scared me senseless as though my faithful friends have given up on me. The doctor has increased my dose and given a low amount of diazepam and propranolol but I wondered if anyone knew how long it takes for an increased dose to work. The other tablets aren't really helping. Any help would be appreciated as feeling quite afraid.
