Feeling constantly tired with Citalopram !

I have been on Citalopram now for around 3 weeks after having to start them again after not being on them for a year as my anxiety came back with a bang, the only problem I am having is that I feel constantly tired I have to have a nap during the day now because I cant keep my eyes open. My favourite time of the day is when I can go to sleep, I have no energy for exercise and I always avoid it.

How does everyone else deal with the tiredness I need some advice

I always take mine first thing in the morning I have started getting used to them now but im going to sleep about 10pm because I cant keep my eyes open !

I think I might keep them the same purely because I think I would forget to take them when I get home from work !

It wears off eventually don't worry. I've been on Cit for 2 years now, took a long time (about a year) for it to work fully but well worth the wait.

That's about how long it took me also..a whole year

Thank you ! I’m only like it really when I don’t have work and I’m not doing anything looking forward to the tiredness being gone I’ve been going swimming and that has woken me up a bit Definately doing a bit of exercise has helped me

Sadly tiredness/dizziness are common side effects with SSRIs/SNRIs, they do pass though as the weeks go on. Ironically they can also cause insomnia in some people so not everyone is the same.

My fiance recently started Duloxetine and couldn't even get out of bed for the first 3 days she was so tired. Now the side effects have completely gone and she's doing fine.
